Alexander Wang y el Samsung Galaxy Note II

Tal vez puedan preguntarse qué tiene que ver uno de los diseñadores de modas más influyentes del siglo con la tecnología. En esta ocasión muchísimo, pues Alexander Wang y Samsung se han unido para crear una bolsa edición limitada. Tal vez cada vez les suene más extraño pero les explicaré. 

Alexander Wang hará una bolsa con fotos que amigos del diseñador tomen exclusiva y únicamente con el Samsung Galaxy Note II; estas fotos se colocarán en la bolsa a manera de collage. La bolsa podrá ser adquirida en la página del diseñador y los fondos recaudados se irán a una fundación de niños artistas. 

Esperemos ver pronto cómo queda el diseño de esta singular bolsa. 

Perhaps you are asking what does one of the most influential fashion designers of the century has anything to do with technology. Right now,  a lot, since Alexander Wang and Samsung have teamed up to create a limited edition bag. Perhaps it´s getting hard for you to understand but I'll explain.

Alexander Wang will create a bag using photos taken by his friends; this photos must be taken using the help of the Samsung Galaxy Note II; this pictures will appear in the bag´s design. The bag can be purchased eventually  at the website of the designer and the proceeds will go to a foundation of child performers.

Hope we can be able to see this incredible bag soon. 

Bordados artísticos

Su nombre es Ana Teresa Barboza. Desconozco su edad o su nacionalidad. Lo que sí se es que su arte es extraordinario, pues hace dibujos con grafito sobre tela; hasta ahí no hay nada fuera de lo común, sin embargo su trabajo no sólo se trata de dibujar con sombreado y ya, lo que realmente me cautivó fue que a esos dibujos les agrega elementos ¡bordados!. Y no es cualquier bordado, pues cada bordado tiene distintos colores, lo que hace que aparenten volumen y se vean más interesantes.

Her name is Ana Teresa Barboza. I do not know neither her age nor nationality. What I do know is that her art is extraordinary, since she makes drawings with graphite on canvas, up to here there's nothing unusual, but her work is not just about drawing with shading on canvas and nothing else , what really captivated me was that she adds to her drawings embroidered items!. And it is not just any embroidery since each one has different colors, which makes them look really vivid and more interesting.

Para todos aquellos apasionados con el mundo de la moda hay muy buenas noticias. ELLE México Diseña vuelve con su tercera edición. Para quienes no sepan, este evento tiene como fin el reconocimiento de los nuevos talentos mexicanos en lo que al diseño de modas concierne. 

Si tienen la oportunidad, pueden consultar las bases  del concurso dando click aquí. Las inscripciones son del 12 de Diciembre al 31 de Enero.

Les sugiero estar pendientes al concurso aunque no entren como tal, pues el talento mexicano está a todo lo que da. Les dejo algunas imágenes de la edición pasada. Enjoy! 



For those who are passionate about the fashion world there is very good news. ELLE Mexico Diseña returns with its third edition. For those who do not know, this event is aimed at recognizing the new Mexican talent as fashion design concerns.

If you have the opportunity, please consult the contest rules by clicking here. The registrations are from December 12 to January 31.

El regreso más esperado

Se que no hablo sólo por mí, sino por muchísimas personas más alrededor del mundo que son fieles nada más y nada menos que a Mr. JT. Hoy sacó su primer sencillo titulado "Suit & Tie", el cual canta en compañía de Jay-Z. 

Su disco promete continuar en donde nos dejó, con mucho R&B y ese no se qué que qué se yo que nos hace bailar y pasarla bien. 

Ya hacía falta un regreso de este tipo, después de todo nos dejó en suspenso ¡por 7 años!.

I know that I speak not only for myself but for many people around the world who are faithful nothing more and nothing less than to Mr. JT. Today he released his first single titled "Suit & Tie", which sings in company of Jay-Z.

His album promises to continue where we were left off, with great R & B and that idontknowwhat that makes us dance and have fun.

We needed a comeback like this, after all we were put on hold for 7 years!.

Si hay algo que caracteriza los finales de los 90s y principios del 2000 es la serie animada Pokémon. Con todas estas criaturas que se ajustaban perfectamente a las exigencias o imaginación de cualquiera (desde el tierno Squirtle hasta el feroz Charizard). En fin, hace unos años descubrí este blog que combina dos grandes titanes: Pokémon y la moda. 

Y esque en este blog editan las fotos de las más grandes firmas, agregándoles un toque caricaturesco pero siempre acertado.

If anything characterizes the late 90s and early 2000s is the animated series Pokémon. With all these creatures that fit perfectly to the requirements or imagination of anyone (from tender Squirtle to fierce Charizard ). Anyway, a few years ago I discovered this blog that combines two great titans: Pokémon and fashion.

And in this blog photos of larger firms are edited, adding a cartoonish touch but always in a successful way.

Juego de sombras al estilo japonés

Procrastinando en internet (como es mi costumbre) descubrí a esta artista japonesa de nombre Kumi Yamashita. Esta artista trabaja con ayuda de la luz, las formas y la relación entre ambas. ¿El resultado? Arte y razonamiento en su máxima expresión. 

Ella ha experimentado el juego de las luces y de las formas de diferentes maneras. Por ejemplo, en una de sus obras decidió poner varios alfileres en una superficie plana, a los cuales les fue entrelazando poco a poco hilo negro hasta crear retratos realmente sorprendentes. 

A decir verdad, me parece fascinante cuando un artista encuentra esta relación entre lo artístico y lo lógico, es decir, con este tipo de artistas me doy cuenta que el lado izquierdo del cerebro puede llevarse muy bien con el derecho, y cuando es así, bueno, hay artistas como Yumi Yamashita.

Procrastinating on the internet (as I usually do),  I found this Japanese artist named Yumi Yamashita. This artist works with the help of light, forms and the relationship between them. The result? Art and reasoning at its best.

She has experienced the game of lights, shadows and forms in different ways. For example, in one of her works she decided to put several pins on a flat surface, to whom she was slowly weaving black thread to create truly amazing portraits.


To tell the truth, I find it fascinating when an artist finds this relationship between the artistic and the logical,  what I am trying to say is that, with artists such as her, I notice that the left side of the brain can truly get along with the rightone, and if so, well, there are artists like Yumi Yamashita.

Oz mejor que nunca

Si pensaban que hablaba del Mago de Oz están en lo correcto. Este post esta dedicado nada menos que a hablar un poco sobre la nueva película que Disney lanzara en Marzo del 2013: El Gran y Poderoso Oz. 

Esta pretende ser una precuela de la película original. Protagonizada por James Franco como Oz y con actrices como Michelle Williams, Rachel Weisz, Mila Kunis, entre otros, es una película que no debemos perder, pues nadie en verdad hemos visto lo que sucede antes de que Dorothy aparezca en escena. Hay rumores de que esta es la primera de una gran saga.

If you thought I was talking about the Wizard of Oz, you were right. This post is dedicated nothing more and nothing less than to talking about the new movie that Disney will be launching this March 2013: Oz, The Great and Powerful.

This pretends to be a prequel of the original movie. Starring James Franco as Oz and including actresses such as Michelle Williams, Rachel Weisz, Mila Kunis and many others, this is a movie we must see, being that nobody really knows what happens before Dorothy appears in the picture. There are rumors that this will be the first of a great series.
