Enjoy!
When we think about any of the Disney´s princesses, we don´t get to think "Wow, now that´s a dress! I wonder how much money did Cinderella spent on it" or "Who designed Belle´s dress?"; in case someone has actually thought about it, I don´t even know what to say to you haha just kidding. No, seriously I had never thought about it until today.
British department store Harrods decided to launch (along with Disney, clearly) a campaign in which the main characters are the princesses. With dresses designed by great fashion designers that go from Elie Saab to roberto Cavalli, the princesses show their chic side. It is now the time to ask "How much do you think Cinderella spent on her dress?"
My favorite design would be Elie Saab´s dress for Princess Aurora (from the Sleeping Beauty) and Jenny Packham´s dress for Rapunzel, but judge by yourselves which one do you think is the best design. Here´s the campaign´s video as well as the designers fashion sketches. Enjoy!
Princesa Aurora por Elie Saab
Tiana por Ralph & Russo
Ariel por Marchesa
Bella Por Valentino
Cenicienta por Versace
Rapunzel por Jenny Packham
Pocahontas por Roberto Cavalli
Jazmín por Escada
Mulan por Missoni
So glad you did a post about this! I know that my fashion identity as a young girl was REALLY influenced by Disney movies, and it's wonderful to see those fantasy gowns made real! I have to say, though, that I missed the blue-tint in Cinderella's dress. The powder blue shimmer of that gown has always been my favorite Disney fasion element.
ResponderEliminarSo glad you liked the post! I think the same about Ariel´s gown, it could have been a little bit more flashy; that´s why I loved so much Aurora´s gown, so feminine and yet so classy!
ResponderEliminarBut you´re right about Cinderella´s gown, it missed that sparkley effect that characterizes it.
